A random number, with a tiny bit of ceremony

You could ask Siri. You could roll a d10. Or you can hit spin and watch a wheel land on your number with a cheer. All three work. This one is more fun to show on a stream, in a classroom, or when you need to pick a hole in a trivia card. The visual spin gives the result weight — "the wheel chose it" is harder to argue with than "the computer chose it."

Each number is equally likely

Every slice is the same size, so each number from 1 to 10 has a 10% chance per spin. We pick using the browser cryptographic random generator with rejection sampling, which eliminates modulo bias. Over 100 spins each number should land roughly 10 times — rarely exactly, but close. The variation you see is the real randomness working, not a glitch.

Need a different range?

The editor accepts any numbers. Paste "1 through 20" or "1 through 50", one per line. For 1 to 100 we have a dedicated page. For a quick dice roll, use the dice roller instead — a d10 is identical to this wheel, and d4, d6, d8, d12, d20, d100 are all one click away.

Uses for the 1-10 wheel

Classroom participation (number each kid 1-10, spin to pick), game night (pick a round, pick a question, pick a drink), raffle sub-draws (first draw a group of 10 names, then spin to pick one), writing prompts (ten story starters, spin for today's). Teachers often save a 1-10 wheel labelled with their class size for the whole school year.

FAQ

Can I change the range?

Yes. The editor accepts any numbers. Replace the list with 1–20, 1–50, 1–100, or any custom range. For a quick numeric roll, the dice roller supports d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, d20 and d100.

Is this cryptographically secure?

The randomness source is crypto.getRandomValues, same as what browsers use for security tokens. It is not formally audited for lottery use. For regulated draws use a certified RNG service; for games, classrooms and casual decisions this is well beyond fair.

Can I remove numbers after they land?

Yes. Click "Remove winner" in the popup after each spin and that number drops out of the wheel. Useful for raffles without replacement.
